I was born and raised in Columbia Station where I attended public schools and graduated from Columbia High School. I now reside in Olmsted Falls but close enough to the border to still consider myself the ‘best of both worlds’. I have raised 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl. My children have moved away but still make time to come and visit! I now have 6 grandchildren but our family is still growing. After high school I spent two years at community college, took ministry courses at Notre Dame College and have taken courses at St. Mary’s Seminary as well. For over 20 years I spent a heavy part of my ministry within the Stephen Ministry here at St. Mary of the Falls Parish. I took courses in Florida for the ministry and brought the work here. While taking the multiple continuing education courses at the seminary, I spearheaded the bereavement group, the Parish Picnic for many years and have been a Eucharistic minister for 26 years. A little fun fact about myself is that I am a convert. 30 years ago I converted from the United Methodist Church. Since then I have grown in love with my faith and have tried my best to share it with those around me. I was (and still am!) a PSR teacher and have worked with the Women’s Journey group. For over 25 years now I ran my own cleaning business up until this year. I became a member of parish staff about five years ago but have ministered to older adults for over 20 years. On my ‘spare time’ I am a professed member of the Order of Franciscans Secular and the minister to Our Lady of the Falls Fraternity. I absolutely love the work that I do and look forward to the future of the parish. If you ever need to get a hold of me please call the parish (my extension is 122) or send me an email at jastasenko@aol.com. May God Bless you abundantly! | |||
