| Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist |
| The ordinary ministers of the Eucharist are the ordained ministers (priests or deacons). As an exception, members of the laity are called upon to assist in the distribution of the Eucharist when the needs of the community exceed the capabilites of the number of ordained ministers at the Mass. This is a consideration that takes into account the number in attendance and the practicality of the priests and /or deacon attempting to distribute the precious Body and Blood to all present in a reasonable amount of time. This ministry requires training and commissioning by the Diocese of Cleveland. If you have questions about the ministry, please talk to a priest or deacon. |
