Out of humble beginnings, Habitat for Humanity emerged in 1976 with a belief that all people have a right to safe, decent housing. Habitat's view is that you cannot address inequity - racial or economic - without affordable housing that enables families to stabilize, grow roots and wealth, and pursue self-improvement.

St. Mary of the Falls Faith Build 2024
Did you know that 2024 will be the 10th consecutive year that St. Mary of the Falls has supported the Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity Faith Build? Each parish participating in the 2024 Faith Build provides:
- Prayers (everything works better with prayerful support!)
- A portion of the material costs (our goal is $5,000 ~ any donation helps!)
- A portion of labor - 2 additional work days have been added for our SMOF Faith Builders. Look for an update in the parish bulletin about volunteering on Thursday, October 17th or Thursday, November 14th.

Joyfully Sharing God's Love
July 13, 2024 - Our Faith Build team traveled from the Faith Build house to Hulda Avenue to paint the inside of the garage and put up a fence in the backyard for a new habitat homeowner (who was on-site working with us). She and her 3 children are taking possession of the home on Friday, July 19th, and the yard needed much work. August 15, 2024 - What a great day we had installing interior insulation at a new Habitat home on Crestwood in the Buckeye / Woodhill neighborhood. Thank you for putting your FAITH INTO ACTION by sharing your time and talents, as it is so important for families to have housing security.
September 27, 2024 - We met and took a tour of the HFH 2024 Faith Build house located at 10522 Crestwood. Armed with a prayer of thanksgiving, a request for safety of all involved in the Faith Build that day, and our AWESOME 2024 Faith Build T-shirts, we began our work day.
On this day, our SMOF group transitioned into demolition mode on a HFH home located one street over on Grandview. This previously rehabbed HFH house had been abandoned by the owner, who simply walked away from the house full of his possessions about a year ago. We suspect squatters may have lived there off and on. Now, HFH can rehab this house again with new mechanicals, flooring, a bathroom, and a kitchen. This house should be ready for occupancy by the end of 2024.
